From Sally Eckles

Yesterday I threw away the radio.
Today the rug goes.
All these years after their deaths, my parent’s lives are still slipping away from me.
The radio served them well all those years, and me later, but now it dies.
The rug that my mother so proudly bought for herself, displayed for years at the lake house is worn and stained.
It was replaced today by an impostor.
